This series of 6 books are highly recommended by our friend Lyra:

“This book is awesome because it is about a girl and a boy cousins who find a dragon egg but they think it’s a geode and the boy cousin puts it into his sock drawer.”

The pair are then surprised to find their geode hatching and learn to care for, and have adventures with, the amazing creature that emerges. The series starts with The Dragon in the Sock Drawer and continues with The Dragon in the Driveway, The Dragon in the Library, The Dragon in the Volcano, The Dragon in the Sea and The Dragon at the North Pole.
