This book started a great conversation with our first and second grade classes. We talked about how it might feel to be smarter than our teacher and how to take care of books. Several students decided that books without covers are not as interesting as books with covers. Everyone agreed that books shouldn’t be scribbled in.

When we read this book together we learned a new word  (boke) and we were surprised to find a joke left for us by the publisher. If you would like to know what that new word means or what the joke was you will have to either read the book yourself or ask one of our 1st or 2nd graders.
