Summer Meals for Kids

Salt Lake City School District’s Summer Food Service Program will offer free meals to all children, ages 0-18, this summer. Free lunch will be served at the Salt Lake City Library, various community parks, and many schools located around the city. Free breakfast will also be available, but only in school cafeterias on days when summer school is in session.
Each location has its own schedule, so please check the times and dates for the site you plan to visit. All meal sites will be closed on these holidays:
- Monday, June 15 (Juneteenth holiday observed)
- Friday, July 3 (Independence Day observed)
- Friday, July 24 (Pioneer Day)
The summer program is paid for by the federal government and has a few rules:
- Each child must be there in person to get their meal.
- Meals must be eaten at the site (except for one fruit or side item, which can be taken home).
Meals for children with special dietary needs will be provided upon request. Parents can contact our Child Nutrition Dietitian via email at Lydia.Hales@slcschools.org or contact the Child Nutrition Department by phone at (801) 974-8380 to make arrangements.
